Scrimmage Scheduling Process

If you are using a practice time to scrimmage another team, you will need to follow these steps.

Step 1 - Schedule Officials here under the Team Manager tab.  Enter game information and ensure all information is correct before submitting.

Step 2 -  Reserve a locker room for the visiting team by emailing the rink staff at scrimmage@plymouthmn.gov

Step 3 - Update your team calendar. The ice scheduler will not remove or change the practice, so add a game to your team website with the scrimmage information.

Step 4 - Inform the Ice Scheduler that you have a scrimmage on a certain day, so your team is not booked for practice ice on that day.  This must be done 30 days out in order to avoid getting/paying for ice. Please note, if you are less than 30 days out and have ice time schedule you are responsible for selling/trading that ice.

Substitute Goalie Requests

Go to the D3 website and navigate to the Manager page. There, you will see several links - click the SUBSTITUTE GOALIE link.  From there you can download the Sub Goalie Form. This form requires the signatures of the Wayzata Association President and the D3 Director. Best practice is to read through the policy included on the form, complete the top section of the form and then send via email to both WYHA President and the D3 Director for their signatures. In the event of extremely short notice such as illness, at minimum you should have the WYHA President's signature on the form before the game is played with the substitute goalie. If the WYHA President is unavailable, then an VP Travel or the VP Admin can also sign.

LOCKER ROOM MONITORING POLICY

The Wayzata Youth Hockey Association (WYHA) is committed to following the guidelines set forth by USA Hockey’s SafeSport Program to help protect our participants from physical abuse, sexual abuse and other types of misconduct, including emotional abuse, bullying, threats, harassment, and hazing. To ensure that these goals are met, WYHA has committed to the following Locker Room policies and procedures, which are designed to maintain personal privacy as well as reduce the risk of misconduct within locker rooms.

If you are a coach or volunteer that will be serving as a Locker Room Monitor (LRM), please review the attached policy and make sure you are aware of all the requirements.

To become eligible to serve as a LRM, please ensure you have completed the following steps:

  • Register as a volunteer through USA Hockey.

  • Become certified through the USA Hockey SafeSport program. This consists of participating in several hours of online training provided by the U.S. Center for Safesport Training.

  • Complete the USA Hockey Background Screening. Locker Room Monitors need to complete the background screening BEFORE being confirmed as a LRM.  The new process implemented by USA Hockey several years ago has a $30 fee, but screenings are good for 2 years.   This means if you completed a screening anytime after 4/1/2022, it should be good for the 2023-2024 season. The eight digit self-registration ID number for USAH to initiate your screen is 35615801. Once you complete the screening process, we will be able to track it through the USA Hockey portal so there is no need to submit confirmation.
