SafeSport & Background Checks

All Coaches, Team Managers, Locker Room Monitors, Board Members, Coordinators, and any other volunteer that will have regular contact with or authority over WYHA players are required to complete the following registration steps. Follow the steps on the Volunteering page to complete your requirements. It is strongly recommended to get a head start on these requirements early in the season or pre-season to ensure you are compliant. Lack of compliance will result in being unable to do the role (ex. a Coach will not be allowed on the ice).

The report below provides a manually updated status of all WYHA volunteers and their SafeSport and Background Check requirements. Please note this report is not automatically generated and is updated periodically by our registrar. To appear on this list and track your compliance, you must first register with WYHA as a volunteer. Coaches can find their requirements status on the Coaching page.

In the event that any WYHA member observes any SafeSport abuses and/or misconduct, it is the member’s personal responsibility to immediately report their observations to the WYHA’s SafeSport Coordinator. Suspected child physical or sexual abuse should be reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities.

WYHA has ZERO TOLERANCE for abuse and misconduct.

To report a SafeSport Incident/Violation, you can use any of these reporting options:

1. Fill out the WYHA Code of Conduct/SafeSport Incident Report Form
2. Email the WYHA SafeSport Coordinator at safesport@wayzatahockey.org
3. Report the incident directly to USA Hockey SafeSport safesport@usahockey.org or 1-800-888-4656

A Code of Conduct and/or SafeSport issue can be reported via the form below. The form will route to the WYHA President, VP of Administration, VP of Travel, and VP of Girls Travel.
